James Hurd Nixon

James Hurd Nixon is a Co-Founder of the TechEquity Collaborative. He is also co­founder and principal of Sustainable Systems a for-­profit corporation that undertakes initiatives that pursue sustainable economic and community development. He is lead consultant for the East Bay Broadband Consortium, an East Bay initiative to acquire 21 st Century Broadband infrastructure, bridge the digital divide, and create a tech ecosystem in Oakland and the East Bay that incorporates diversity, inclusion, and equity in its DNA.

Mr. Nixon has served as: lead consultant to the Bay Area Council for the Bay Area Family of Funds; co-­founder of Oakland’s first tech incubator/accelerator, the Communication Technology Cluster; and lead consultant to the Mayor’s Office in San Antonio Texas for Mission Verde, San Antonio’s Sustainable Economic Development Strategy.
